American actor and musician Awkwafina made her debut with humorous rap tracks that tackled sexuality and racial identities with a boldly comedic perspective before increasing her presence in Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Korean immigrants living in Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was through the instrument of trumpet. Additionally, she was given classical and jazz training later delving into hip-hop as a teenager. In her studies, she majored in journalism, and women's studies at college, even taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing during a brief time. It wasn't until she began focusing on music until she completed her degree. After becoming famous on the Internet and her own track My Vag was a reaction to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick. It eventually was included on the album she released, Yellow Ranger. Some other hits that went viral included queef song and the winking NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. The latter song was linked directly to another project, Awkwafina's NYC a travel guide published in the year 2015. Following a career that was successful as a performer, she chose to assume the character of actress. Along with early series like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in movies such as Neighbors to Storks. In 2018, she landed an array of noteworthy performances, which included Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June she dropped her EP "In Fina We Trust".
