Anamaria Marina is an Romanian actress. Her screen debut was with Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 film in which she won the British Academy Television Award as the Best Actress. Speaks French, German, English and Romanian fluently. Her mother played the violin and her father is a theatre professor at one of Romania's best theater schools. The actress won the Best Female Actor Award for the Year 2000 in the Gala for Young Actors in Mangalia. In 2008, the European Film Promotion Board recognized her as the first European Shooting Star. She was the lead in Cristian Mugiu's Romanian film "4 3 weeks, 4 months and 2 days" (4 months, three weeks and 2 Days) which earned her the Palme d'Or award at Cannes Film Festival 2007. The film also won two additional awards: the Cinema Prize of French National Education System (FIPRESCI Prize) as well as the Cinema Prize. Youth Without Youth, a Francis Ford Coppola movie, was also a part of her professional career. In 2008 she was the character Yasim Anwar in BBC mini-series The Last Enemy. Marinca was a part of Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven as well as the Romanian film Boogie. She played Irma on Fury 2014 in which she portrayed the role of a German known aunt for Emma.
