Kristen Anne Bell, born 1980 in the United States of America is an actress as well as a performer. She is a Michigan native born and was raised by her parents Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) and Tom Bell (a TV news director). Kristen is Polish (mother's) and German (father's), English, Irish and Scottish ancestry. Kristen discovered her talents within the industry of entertainment in her early years. In 1992, she was awarded her first role at her audition in Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell was contacted by an agent by her mother prior to the age 13 and she was subsequently hired as a model in advertisements on television and newspapers. She is now also taking private acting lessons. Bell had a role that was not credited in Polish Wedding (1998), a film released in 1998. Bell went to Shrine Catholic High School and was a member of the music club and the drama club. Bell was cast as Dorothy in the high-school production of The Wizard of Oz. After graduation Bell made the move into New York City to attend the highly regarded Tisch School of the Arts in which she learned about musical theatre. Bell dropped out of her studies in 2001 and began playing Becky the character of Tom Sawyer. In 2001, Bell was the first to make her credit debut as Becky in Pootie Tang. But the film cut her character from the film and she was not even in the credits. Bell was in the film with Angela Bettis, Liam Neeson as well as in the Broadway performance of The Crucible in 2002.
